Meet Boutique Owner Yvonne McCullough

Meet Boutique Owner Yvonne McCullough

Boutique Owner Yvonne McCullough was born on August 30th, 1990 in Houston Tx. SEYVNPM was created on March 20, 2017 and officially launched in April of 2017. Yvonne got the burning desire to create a brand for all shapes and sizes due to the era of “body shaming”.

Many brands focus on skin tone, hair texture, and size which; inadvertently tell women who don’t meet that criteria, “this way is good” and “this way is bad”; which oftentimes cause women that are in the “bad” category to overcompensate negatively ie. unhealthy relationships, body dysmorphia, becoming slaves to vanity to the point we lose focus on other gifts we may have to offer to the world, etc.

Yvonne M and The 7 Minutes With Q Podcast

SEYVNPM is here to tell women you can wear this if YOU decide you can, nobody gets to decide how Beautiful you are unless you agree, you don’t have to be uncomfortable or go through any pain to be you!

SEYVNPM is not just a clothing brand, it’s a women empowerment movement. SEYVNPM is here to assist you in fixing your crown, detoxing from society’s standards, loving yourself, and being comfortable in anything you put on. SEYVNPM welcomes all colors, shapes, sizes, and walks of life. SEYVNPM also wants women to know there is no such thing as “too big, too small, too tall, too short” etc. What one must understand is that these are individual preferences that have nothing to do with you. The most any woman has to be is who she is. Operate unapologetically in YOU because there’s is only one of you and the world needs what you have to offer.

Meet Major Recording Artist and Rapper Guch

“Louisiana native,” Andrea Clay discovered her love for music at the age of 5. Inspired by 2Pac, a liberated and educated thug, she began writing conscious and subconscious lyrics in 95. Throughout her childhood she turned to music like a security blanket and made the studio her safe zone. Initially “Infinity”, the lyrical whiz took on the pseudonym: GUCH.  “Infinity didn’t define me…I mean, the name was cool,  and of course I want my music to be everlasting but when my friends asked me how I was…I always replied ‘I’m Guchhh.’ Meaning..I’m good..nothing bothers me.”

Guch and Q

Digging into her story further, it became evident that in music Andrea really is Guchhh, unbothered. No matter the worries of the world she maintains a constant peace. In spite of familial hardships and unfathomable circumstances, GUCH has remained true to her passion.

When asked about her support system, the list was too vast to be listed.  Of course, her family and friends were mentioned, but she was certain to give all Glory and Honor to God for the privilege to be capable of converting emotions of herself as well as others through music.

Her personality matches her passion.  In her spare time she volunteers and works in her music.  She enjoys working with children with special needs.  This is one artist in tune with what matters.

Should there be a partial or full forgiveness? What about I don’t have kids so why do I have to pay for schools? What do you think about showing moderation maybe $5,000 – $10,000? Are you pessimistic? Do you think there should be some sort of national service, non-violent, caveat? Write it below! 😉 Enjoy…

Student Loan Debt : To forgive ou pas?

Student Debt : To forgive ou pas?

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Gobble Gobble Gobble! Am I boring you alright enough I’ll get to the point.

With the newly elected incoming executive administration, more and more Americans are having conversations about a host of progressive ideas and topics ranging from racial injustice, immigration to climate change and we’re barely touching the surface. Student loan forgiveness is on the lips of folks too. A simple search online can drag up many articles and conversations about it. Heck, Moveon.org has an email marketing campaign about it so one wonders is this really going to happen.

Here are a few points to think about:

1) Let’s say if legislation works in the favor of the Democrats and a bill is passed and implemented if the opposition tries to overturn it similar to the Affordable Care Act they might get shut down. Why well look at the fight to overturn the ACA they recently got rejected because it more or less is working and millions of people have are enrolled. You can’t just take it from them.

2) Should the push be for a partial payment given the current economic situation or a full gesture? If there is a partial payment then people might get frustrated remembering how the other companies and industries were bailed in the past few decades including in 2020 and that reality could negatively impact the Left moving forward. We also have to remember that many CEO’s and others walked away with golden parachutes during severe economic downturns. This angered many Americans and we still see it happening today. It always baffles me how none of these multi-million and billion dollar companies do not have any backup cash or “savings”! Hey Man, where is your 6 months of savings?!?!

3) Another interesting idea to consider is does this come with a stipulation? Caveat? Condition? Some service that is none military such as public defenders, teachers, volunteer healthcare workers or something artistic too. Like maybe communication or media related work for non-profits, governmental entities and private.

Look, I don’t have the answers and I’m just an average grade of weed in the dispensary but student loan forgiveness needs to be discussed, our elected officials need to move forward with this and we must hold them accountable.

Leave us comment below whether good bad or ugly and tell us what you think – use the #sevenmwq!!!

Coming up: Student Loan Debt

Coming up: Student Loan Debt

The student loan debt in 2020 is around $1.6 trillion according to major sources. Wow! Yea right and I thought I had debt. Anyways. This is a big deal. What are the solutions and how do we fix them should be the goal but common sense ain’t always common.

Stay tuned here at the 7 Minutes with Q podcast and we’ll talk more about it. Hey as always leave us a comment and tell us what you think? 👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿

Musings about commercial radio

Musings about commercial radio

Yesterday Charlamagne Tha God Co-Host of the Breakfast Club went on to say “Today is not a win. If Biden wins, this is not a win. If Trump wins, this is not a win. […] Today is not a win. If Biden wins, this is not a win. If Trump wins, this is not a win. […] Black people have to continue to work towards justice.” This is a semi-direct quote but trust me he said it and I was dialed in to here it.

Now, don’t get me wrong he isn’t twisted the Host of Donkey of the Day is touching on something important but I think he’s off. For me I’m a man first. Being Black comes after and some may argue I’m a child of God first and foremost but they all reveal one thing – intersectionality. My destiny in justice is tied to justice for others. If Biden wins, it’s a win for me as a human but also a Black man – and yes I’m aware of many of the Biden/Harris bullshit, lies and blunders. But, gave the current state of affairs, I simply trust the devil I know. I guess in the way others can reject racist rhetoric, legislation and corruption all for the sake of power.

I believe a Biden presidency won’t be perfect but we will get answers to these questions: Will there be an end to the muslim ban, some support for DACA recipients and a better response to COVID-19? As a Black man I wonder how many Black folks are impacted by the muslim ban. What are the stories of Black DACA recipients?

These are just the tip of the icebergs in regards to the advantages of a Biden presidency. While I ride for the Black Community we can’t figure that we can do this alone. I look forward to a future where the democrats get their shit together or Black folks and Others fight for change and investment such as really putting money and work behind a third party candidate. These are my thoughts. Leave a comment below whether good, bad or ugly.

There is something to say about period pieces that draws me into the interplay between the characters and this show doesn’t let you down. What’s not to love is a better question. I’m not sure if the decor or wardrobe does it for me but I like forward to themed parties. The production value and set design is spectacular and come award season this show should be raking them in.

Fans of horror this is your show! Monsters, gore, drama and of course suspense abound in this show. If your are a fan of Nightmare on Elm Street, Resident Evil and other popular horror films or shows then this has your name on it.

Another reason to watch Lovecraft Country is the interweaving of historical events throughout the storyline. The story is set in the 1950’s and deals with police brutality, white rage and more. Emmett Till’s story takes center stage in episode 8 and successfully sums up black disgust, anger and emotions that were felt as a result of the incident. We see this personified in the character Diana who seems to have the biggest reaction to that event.

The HBO hit series touches on themes of love, family, homophobia, misogyny and of course Afro-futurism. Atticus, played by Jonathan Majors, and his father Montrose, played by Michael K. Williams, struggle to mend their relationship throughout the show. Atticus tries to reconcile his father’s abusive behavior while subsequently coming to grips with his father’s secret – Montrose is gay. The viewer wonders will this divide the two or bring them together but as the story unfolds we witness them fight to understand each other and they do as the season finale illustrates. I personally am glad they reconciled their differences as they not only went through too much to be at odds with each other but they also had too much on the line to allow that to divide them.

Lovecraft Country is a must watch show that you are missing out on. It’s still available on HBO Max and if you don’t have a subscription ask a friend 😉

BLLJ : Would you want to know?

BLLJ: Would you want to know when you are going to die?

With the recent news that NBA legend Kobe Bryant, Gianna Bryant and 7 other passengers passing away in a helicopter crash Sunday, conversations about our mortality can be heard from street corner to office rooms. Some compare this to the death of many notable celebrities such as: Michael Jackson, Prince and John Lennon just to name a few. Still, the shock of how sudden it occurred plus the blundering of the information being leaked added to the suspense of the day. We were on the edges of our seats.

This moment brings up many feelings and emotions. Pain, grief, anger, confusion. We want answers. Folks look for understanding and rationale but come up empty. We wonder and wonder until before long we’re putting ourselves in their shoes. We try to empathize. Imagine what could be going through their minds. This moment prompts the question: would you want to know the date of your death? Would you want to know when you were going to die?
