Full episode dropping this week so go ahead and follow us so that you don’t miss the latest from us 🔥🔥🔥
I want to go eat. I’m going to eat. I’m gonna eat. “Je vais” is a fascinating sentence structure in French which is often used to express a desire to do something. You can use it to talk about the future whether in the next second or any moment beyond. Sorry I got very grammar nerdy but fuck it sometimes it’s cool. Yes, you can substitutes “manger” for any verb you want or any action want. For example, I’m going to bed, I’m going to work, and I’m going could be said as, “Je vais au lit, Je vais au boulot, Je vais sortir” in that order. The “JE” has a “jhuh” sound almost like pronouncing the beginning of “junk”. “Vais” can be said as, “Vay/Vae/Vai” like way but with a “v”. “Manger” is pronounced as “Man-jay”. “Au” = o, “Lit” = Lee, “Boulot” = boo-low, “Sortir” = Sore-tear… There you go – Enjoy!!!

I know I need a reminder every now and again. 🤪 But this is what I have to say…

I don’t know when Dr. King became important to me but he has for sure had a tremendous impact on me. I remember exploring his writings about non-violent civic engagement/disobedience. Listen, being a guy who at times goes against the grain, I naturally gravitated to this philosophy and definitely romanticized the civil rights era. During those times of personal development I leaned heavily into the speeches, writings, themes and events that shaped this period of time. Some days I’d read and listen to whole speeches for leisure. Being a podcaster it should come as no surprise that I am a fan of his voice. Man I could listen to him for hours. Well, as the day comes to a close let’s not forget the reason for the holiday – “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” – MLK
Here is a snippet from a practice session I had improvising the chord progression for “Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City” by Bobby “Blue” Bland. The song uses Am7, Bm7, Dm7, C, F, FMaj7, Em7, and different variations on the previous list – if you’re interested. Remember, this is a practice session and I’m an Artist and I’m…

Meet Peter R. Dowdy – We talk Jean-Michel Basquiat, Cryptocurrency and Card Games
In our society, whether we like to admit it or not, it’s almost impossible to become a member of the 1%. Unless you’ve had generational wealth, a brilliant idea (remember that for reference later), or you are a star athlete. And even then, you’ll still face challenges of being accepted into the ‘secret society.’ So as a young black American, sorry to say, our choices are limited, and sometimes they possibly drive us to do the unthinkable. As a high school freshman, I knew I was destined to change the world in a major way but didn’t know how. With entrepreneurial inspiration always around, I had pretty much no excuse of how to make something out of nothing. But where to start? Around this time of the early 2000s, my only venture was bootleg CDs. I knew that wasn’t going to make me millions unless I was selling my OWN music, which at the time, I wasn’t. All I did was play games, but with the games I played, it wasn’t going to make me a millionaire. I loved playing Monopoly, but as others played to understand the philosophy of the real estate and purchasing within the game, I focused on the concept of how the money was made and its function. Think about it! Here we were playing an intense game making fictional purchases of land and businesses and NO ONE was questioning the fact that we were playing with money that we couldn’t use anywhere else. This was made up money and it had a use! Fuck everything else about Monopoly. THAT, that was the key part. It had a use. It wasn’t the normal money we used, but my God, it had a use.

La Negrita Come Coco is a character who promotes Dominican popular culture through the web and social networks. She fights for the acceptance of Afro-descendant origins in society and, in a humorous way, denounces the inequalities present in the country.
All the content of her website and social networks are prepared from a journalistic point of view and based on previous interviews and research.
The name originates from Dominican Republic people who often use that term to discriminate against women with dark skin and curly hair. In this way, La Negrita appropriates the name and makes fun of those full of prejudices , showing them that anyone with these physical characteristics can be intelligent and capable.
Plus — with her curvy body, curly hair, and tan skin — she shows that no matter how we look, the important thing is to value ourselves.

Check out this article on Thelonious Monk the link is below and tell me what you think. For those who don’t know Thelonious Monk is a one of jazz’s greatest. The jazz pianist and keyboardist would go on to create a unique style no one could imitate or recreate. Playing during the heyday of jazz, Monk would produce hits like “Round Midnight, Straight No Chaser, and Blue Monk” to name a few. Some would call him the GOAT!!! You can find the original article at faroutmagazine.co.uk a Media and News Company out of the UK.
During a jam session Thelonious dictates 25 pieces of advice for the musically talented:
Just because you’re not a drummer, doesn’t mean that you don’t have to keep time. = Yes this is why it’s always best to practice with a metronome. One suggestion could be to slow it down and then speed up but challenge yourself.
You’ve got to dig it to dig it, you dig? – Yes you have to be having fun too when you play or when you do anything.
Always know – Yes! People have often said, “If you mess up just keep going no one will notice.”, and there you have it even Monk knew it.
Stay in shape! Sometimes a musician waits for a gig & when it comes, he’s out of shape & can’t make it. = Facts – You can’t let it happen. You have to stay ready.
Whatever you think can’t be done, somebody will come along & do it. A genius is the one most like himself. – This screams confidence to me!!!
I love jazz when I think of my favorite artist in this genre Thelonious Monk is at the top. Tell us what you think. Leave us a comment, like, re-share if these stories resonate with you.

With the newly elected incoming executive administration, more and more Americans are having conversations about a host of progressive ideas and topics ranging from racial injustice, immigration to climate change and we’re barely touching the surface. Student loan forgiveness is on the lips of folks too. A simple search online can drag up many articles and conversations about it. Heck, Moveon.org has an email marketing campaign about it so one wonders is this really going to happen.
Here are a few points to think about:
1) Let’s say if legislation works in the favor of the Democrats and a bill is passed and implemented if the opposition tries to overturn it similar to the Affordable Care Act they might get shut down. Why well look at the fight to overturn the ACA they recently got rejected because it more or less is working and millions of people have are enrolled. You can’t just take it from them.
2) Should the push be for a partial payment given the current economic situation or a full gesture? If there is a partial payment then people might get frustrated remembering how the other companies and industries were bailed in the past few decades including in 2020 and that reality could negatively impact the Left moving forward. We also have to remember that many CEO’s and others walked away with golden parachutes during severe economic downturns. This angered many Americans and we still see it happening today. It always baffles me how none of these multi-million and billion dollar companies do not have any backup cash or “savings”! Hey Man, where is your 6 months of savings?!?!
3) Another interesting idea to consider is does this come with a stipulation? Caveat? Condition? Some service that is none military such as public defenders, teachers, volunteer healthcare workers or something artistic too. Like maybe communication or media related work for non-profits, governmental entities and private.
Look, I don’t have the answers and I’m just an average grade of weed in the dispensary but student loan forgiveness needs to be discussed, our elected officials need to move forward with this and we must hold them accountable.
